INGREDIENTS:
- Rajma - 1 cup
- Toor dal - 1 cup
- Green chillies finely chopped - 2 nos
- Onion finely chopped - 1 nos
- Tomato finely chopped - 1nos
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric - a pinch
FOR KOOTU POWDER:
- Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Dry coconut powder - 1/2 tsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
METHOD:
- For kootu powder fry black pepper,cumin seeds and coriander seeds in a pan and allow to cool.
- Grind all three fried ingredients and coconut powder keep a side.
- Soak rajma for 5 hours.
- Cook soaked rajma and toor dal in cooker.
- In a pan heat oil add mustard seeds allow to splutter.
- Add onions and green chillies fry till light brown.
- Add tomatoes cook till it becomes soft.
- Now add coked dal, kootu powder salt and turmeric powder to it, cook for 15 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice or roti
