TOMATO MINT RASAM


INGREDIENTS:

  1. Tomatoes                           - 2
  2. Mint leaves                        - 1/4 cup
  3. Turmeric powder               - pinch 
  4. Rasam powder                  - 2 tsp
  5. Oil                                    - 2 tsp
  6. Mustard seeds                  - 1/4 tsp
  7. Hing                                 - pinch
  8. Jeera                                - 1/4 tsp   
  9. Water                              - 3 glasses
  10. Salt to taste
                                
Method:
  • Cut the tomatoes in 4 parts.
  • In a pan add chopped tomatoes, water, salt and turmeric powder boil for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes mash tomatoes and add mint leaves, boil for 5 minutes.
  • Add rasam powder boil for 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove from flame keep a side.
  • For tempering heat oil in pan add mustard seeds, jeera and hing allow to splutter, add to rasam.
  • Serve hot with rice
